Traditional clothing
Colourful -
but not always

You might have seen movies or TV shows where Native Americans always wear feathers and beads. But is that really what everyday life looks like? Let's clear that up.
What Do Native Americans Actually Wear?
Most Native Americans today wear normal clothes – jeans, t-shirts, hoodies. Just like everyone else. Traditional clothing is only worn for special occasions like ceremonies, not every day. (native-languages.org/clothing.htm)

What about the war bonnet?
This is called a war bonnet. You have probably seen it in a movie. Every feather had to be earned through a brave act – it was sacred. Only certain people wore it, and only during important ceremonies. (Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian)
Jewelry and beadwork
Native Americans used shells, wood and bone to make jewelry and decorate their clothing. Beadwork and silver jewelry are still an important part of many tribes' culture today. (native-languages.org/beadwork.htm)
